Human Resource (HR) Manager

Established in 2014, our mission and vision have guided our services as we provided clean water access to over 132,000 individuals, schools, business and farms in Rwanda and across the borders in DRC, Burundi and Uganda.

 

 

Your role
The HR Manager works with the CEO to recruit, train, and develop talent for all Zamura entities. The HR Manager activities not only promote team member contributions to the company, but also ensures Zamura Feeds is compliant with all MIFOTRA and GoR laws and policies.

 

 

 

 

Key job tasks and responsibilities
  •  Develop and record all Zamura safety, recruiting, employment, and disciplinary policies in accordance with MIFOTRA laws and policies
  • Recruit and onboard all Zamura employees
  • Develop training materials. Host trainings for all employees to refresh understanding of benefits and policies as well as their job responsibilities
  • Sit in as witness and secretary for all disciplinary actions
  • Meet with local Labor Inspector quarterly and as needed to share Zamura documentation and developments as well as stay up to date on new regulations
  • Host Zamura safety and other employee led committee meetings
  • Manage all company employees’ contracts. Renew contracts as needed and maintain all personnel files confidentially
  • Ensure employees’ job descriptions are up to date, clear, understood, and compliant with all national laws and regulations in force
  • Maintain attendance records; plan and maintain employee leave schedules in collaboration with managers and employees
  • Work with CEO to develop performance management and incentive program to drive performance
  • Work with CEO to develop skills and leadership training to improve performance
  • Investigate employee issues and conflict and bring them to resolution
  • All other duties assigned

 

 

 

HR Manager requirements 
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years experience in HR departments/MIFOTRA Labor offices in Rwanda
  • This person must have the ability to write policy and procedure manuals
  • Excellent communication skills. They must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • A desire to help others achieve their best, a positive attitude towards change, and an approachable nature
  • Willingness to assist other departments to develop solutions and metrics
  • Apt and unafraid of de-escalating conflict and handling uncomfortable situations

 

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Works with-Internal: Live Production, Feedmill, Processing, Sales and Accounting TEAMS

Relates with-External: Outside Counsel, Government and community leaders
