Lead Recruiter

AGGP aims to establish a series of entrepreneurial development interventions throughout the African continent.
Jasiri, one of the AGGP’s main programs invests in, nurtures and empower entrepreneurs who benefit society and attack poverty through the creation of High Impact new businesses creating new markets on the African continent. Jasiri offers a One-year ​Talent Investor Program and an Accelerator program for high potential individuals who display entrepreneurial intention-, maturity, and competencies to form part of a community of high impact responsible entrepreneurs. In the Jasiri Talent Investor, Jasiri Fellows are funded and guided through a process of team formation, idea generation, business validation and market entry. We are looking for a stellar Lead Recruiter ​to support this work.


About the Position

The Lead Recruiter will define, develop, plan and implement recruitment strategies and provide a qualified candidate pool for Jasiri. This role requires people skills, project management and recruiting experience to meet Jasiri selection goals.



Talent Investor Program

  • Develop and implement a recruitment strategy that guides the Jasiri Talent Investor Program in seeking and selecting candidates that meet the ideal criteria on an ongoing basis
  • Periodically review the quality of applications to ensure they are enough candidates to fill upcoming cohorts
  • Make recommendations on strategy and initiatives on pipeline building aiming at strengthening the quality of candidates in Rwanda and Kenya
  • Work in close collaboration with the Rwanda Country Director and Kenya Country Lead to foster strategic partnerships and manage relationships with key stakeholders (Government, Entrepreneurship ecosystem, Higher Learning Institutions, recruitment agencies, diaspora networks, etc)
  • Spearhead recruitment campaigns, activities and processes while regularly monitoring their outcomes, recommending changes and ensuring best practices at all times
  • Identify and onboard a group of exceptional fixed term recruiters in Rwanda and Kenya
  • Coordinate and manage the recruitment team including setting weekly/monthly meetings, targets and the monitoring of recruiters performance across Rwanda and Kenya
  • Motivate and encourage campaign partners and recruitment agencies among others to link up Jasiri with ideal candidates, and thereafter coordinate proper follow up and high conversion rates to applications
  • Lead the process of building in-depth relationships with potential ideal candidates, understanding their motivation for applying, clarifying questions/grey areas and guiding them throughout the entire application and selection process
  • Build relationships with- engage with Jasiri Fellows, leveraging their important voices and networks as ambassadors of the Jasiri Talent Investor
  • Implement effective operational and logistical activities related to the recruitment, selection activities and events
  • Provide timely analytical recruitment reports to the team
  • Effectively utilize, track and regularly update the Jasiri Applicant Tracking System (and any other systems & tools)
  • Leverage local, regional and international events and networking opportunities to make presentations about Jasiri programs that would contribute to enhancing the quality of applicants in the pipeline


Accelerator Program

  • Develop and implement a recruitment strategy for the Jasiri Accelerator Program in seeking established ventures that meet the criteria
  • Leverage entrepreneurial events to make presentations about the Jasiri Accelerator program


Other duties

  • Perform any administrative tasks as required in this role
  • Perform any other duties as required



Job Requirements


  • At least 2-5 years of experience in recruitment or headhunting
  • Experience running online recruitment campaigns leveraging platforms such as LinkedIn
  • Candidates with experience in psychometrics are an advantage
  • Understanding of – interest in entrepreneurship to be able to inspire and understand the mindsets and competencies required for the recruitment of Jasiri candidates



  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a field relevant to the role.



  • Communications skills: Excellent English verbal and written Communication skills. Strong ability to present Jasiri information in both large groups and one-on-one conversations. Preference will be given to candidates who can also read, write and speak Kinyarwanda and/or Swahili
  • Planning & Organizations Skills: Excellent organization skills with time management and attention to details
  • People skills: Team player with excellent relationship management skills. Confident in managing conflict, airing concerns, and giving/receiving constructive feedback. Ability to engage with Jasiri Fellows
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with productivity and project management tools such as Microsoft Office and/or Asanda, with the aptitude to learn new software and systems quickly
  • Social media management: Strong interest and ability to leverage social media to run campaigns, events and other related activities
  • Critical thinking & Problem Solving: The ability to reason analytically and successfully manage multiple projects are required. Problem solver, forward thinker with a proactive mindset
  • Learning Orientation: The ability to develop knowledge and technical expertise in the field of assessment
  • Adaptability and flexibility: Ability to easily manage and shift priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment
  • Data Use for decision making: Ability to utilise data for planning, influencing and updating various stakeholders
